-This movie was not intended for young audiences as it shows very frightening images of people being killed, people being hurt, a little romance here and there, dragons, etc. Better for teens and young adults, and is also more dark than the others and considered to be one of the better film adaptations of the book

Plot
-Harry dreams of an older gentleman named Frank Bryce, who overhears a conversation that Lord Voldermort is having, discussing plans with Peter Pettigrew and Barty Crouch Jr. Bryce is killed when he is discovered by Voldemort. This wakes Harry up suddenly, and he sees Hermione nearby, and she tells him that she just arrived so they can all go to the Quidditch World Cup together. Harry and Ron's family meet up with Cedric Diggory(Robert Pattinson) and his da and they all go together. The Quidditch World Cup allows Harry to put his mind at ease that is until followers of Voldemort, called Death Eaters, show up and cause terror.

-When school starts, headmaster Albus Dumbledore(Michael Gambon) introduces a new teacher, Professor Alastor 'Mad Eye' Moody(Brendan Gleason) as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Unfortunately, no one knows that Barty Crouch Jr. has subdued the real Mad Eye Moody and is taking his place with Polyjuice Potion. Dumbledore also announces the Triwizard Tournament, in which one witch/wizard from each of the 3 magical schools is selected to compete. The one who decides who goes is the Goblet of Fire, a magical cup that chooses the names. And when it comes time to choose, the first name out is Cedric Diggory of Hogwarts, Viktor Krum from Durmstrang Institute, and Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Then as all 3 of them are being congratulated on being chosen, a 4th name pops out, Harry Potter of Hogwarts. When Dumbledore sees this, he is somewhat angry, thinking Harry put his name into it, even though he denies it, saying he did not do it. Every one of the students at school is angry with Harry as he is underage like the rest and in ineligible for something like this. This drives Harry and Ron to start fighting. And since the 4 champions are bound by a magical contract, the teachers have no choice but to let Harry compete.

-In their first Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Moody teaches them about the 3 Unforgivable Curses, which he says will earn you a one way ticket to Azkaban, the prison for bad witches/wizards. The Imperius Curse causes absence of free will, The Cruciatus Curse causes unbearable pain, and last the Avada Kedavra Curse causes instant death. The first taks of the Triwizard Tournament involves all 3 champions to retrive a golden egg guarded by a dragon, and this egg will provide a clue to the next task. And since Harry is an ace flyer, Moody advises him to use that to his advantage to retrieve the egg. Soon, the students are informed about something called The Yule Ball, which is a Christmas dance during the Triwizard Tournament. Ron and Harry have trouble finding dates and when Ron sees Hermione attending with Viktor Krum, he becomes jealous, and he thinks Viktor is the enemy and Hermione pleasantly informs that this tournament is to develop friendships with other witches and wizards from other parts of the world.

-With a clue from Cedric, Harry goes to the Prefect's Bathroom on the 5th floor to open the egg. But he is not alone. Moaning Myrtle is there and she really likes Harry. She tells him to open it underwater and it entails that whatever is most precious to the champions is hidden in the Black Lake. Before he goes in, Neville Longbottom gives Harry something called Gillyweed, which helps him develop fish like abilities. When he arrives at the destination underwater, he sees Hermione, Cho Chang and Ron there. He also sees Fleur's sister Gabrielle Delacour. He finishes last in place after freeing Ron and Fleur's sister. He is awarded 2nd place for outstanding moral fiber.

-Soon, Barty Crouch Sr. is found dead by Harry after the 2nd task. While waiting in Dumbledore's office, his curiosity leads him to the Pensieve, which is a magical device which allows someone to almost rewatch a memory. He stands witness to a trial by the Wizengamot, the magic wizard court, in which he sees the leader of Durmstrang, Igor Karkaroff, standing trial as part of the Death Eaters. He also says that Severus Snape and Barty Crouch J. are Death Eaters.

-The 3rd task to find the Triwizard Cup in the middle of a hedge maze. Viktor Krum, under a curse, attacks Fleur and attempts to do the same to Cedric. Harry stops him and Cedric is grbbaed by vines. Harry frees him and they both get to the cup together. They discover the cup is a Portkey, transporting the 2 to a graveyard. Voldemort is waiting for Harry, and Pettigrew performs a ritual that summons Voldemort and the Death Eaters, including Malfoy's dad, Lucius. A fight then occurs between Harry and Voldemort and Harry wins it out, seeing the ghost of his parents and Cedric, who Voldemort has killed with the Killing Curse. When he returns to the hedge maze, everyone is cheering until one girl screams at the sight of Cedric's dead body.

-Back in Dumbledore's office, he reveals that Moody is none other than Barty Crouch Jr. is the Moody in school. The real Moody is at the bottom of a trunk with his leg missing and his eye missing.
