From Hell

From Hell

-2001 American crime drama horror mystery film directed by the Hughes Brothers
-Adaptation of the comic book series of the same name by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell about the Jack the Ripper murders.

Did You Know?
-To play the lead role of Fred Abberline, Jude Law, Brad Pitt, Daniel Day-Lewis auditioned before the role eventually went to Johnny Depp
-Great care was taken to accurately reproduce the Whitechapel neighborhood, the sites of the actual "Ripper" murders and the wounds upon the victims. Pictures from 1888 were used as references
-Pictures from the real Jack the Ripper murders are on the wall in the police station. This was done to give the cast an edgier feel after seeing the real life victims.
-According to John Douglas, who invented criminal profiling, the real life murders were done by someone with a disorganized, paranoid personality, not a calculating one like in the movie
-Johnny Depp's character was based on a real person. Inspector Frederick Abberline of Scotland Yard headed the investigation in the East End. The real Fred Abberline was not a dope addict or psychic, and did not die following the investigation. He died in 1929 at age 86. Robbie Coltrane's character is based loosely on Essex born George Godley, who at the time of the Ripper murders, was a sergeant at Bethnal Green

Plot
-In 1888, Mary Kelly(Heather Graham) and her small group of London prostitutes, who all are friends, go through the daily drama of trying to earn money, their only consolation being that things can't get worse. Unfortunately, the situation does get worse. Their friend Ann Crook(Joanna Page) is kidnapped and they are drawn into a conspiracy with links high up, links they could not imagine. The kidnapping is soon followed by the gruesome murder of another woman, Martha Tabram(Samantha Spiro), and it becomes obvious that they are being hunted down, one by one, as various prostitutes are killed and mutilated post mortem.

-By Whitechapel standards, these murders attract the attention of Police Inspector Frederick Abberline(Johnny Depp), a brilliant, troubled man who has the uncanny ability to see and do his police work through "visions". His investigations reveal that the murders, while gruesome, imply that someone highly educated is behind it due to the almost surgical perfection of the cuts. Ann is discovered a few days later in an asylum, after being lobotomized after officials and doctors found her to be insane. It's said that this was done to silence her. Abberline consults a physician to the Royal Family named Sir William Gull(Ian Holm), drawing on his experience and knowledge of medicine. These discoveries, paired with his bosses holding back the investigation, point to something far darker and possibly an organized conspiracy. Abberline becomes deeply involved, possibly too deeply, and it takes a toll on him when he and Mary begin to fall in love.

-Abberline deduces that the Masonic influence is present in the crimes, since they are highly educated and might be able to make surgical cuts and have the knowledge of medicine. His superior, a high ranking Freemason, then makes a direct intervention and suspends Abberline. It's then revealed that Gull is the killer. He has been killing the witnesses to hide Albert Sickert(Max Dexter)'s forbidden Catholic marriage to Crook, who had a baby girl, Alice, with him. Sickert is actually Prince Edward, the grandson of the reigning Queen Victoria(Liz Moscrop), and therefore Alice is the heir to the British throne. Gull himself is a Freemason and his sinister behavior lends a clue into his murderous mind. Rather than risk the embarrassment and charge Gull, The Freemasons lobotomize Gull to protect the Royal Family from the scandal that might arise. Gull states that he has no equal among men and is rendered an invalid just as Ann had become. Mary Kelly doesn't die; Gull mistook another woman with similar hair color named Ada, who was from France, who happened to be the lover of another prostitute named Liz Stride(Susan Lynch). Ada was actually from Belgium and he murdered her instead of Mary Kelly. Now Mary lives with Alice in a cottage on a cliff by the sea, Abberline is found dead of an opium overdose, knowing he can't ever see Mary again without putting her in danger.

So, Remind Me of Why This Happened Again....

So much violence, so much hurt and pain in the world, and all anyone does anymore is hurt, kill, use violence against people because of skin color, etc. In the words of Rodney King "Why can't we all just get along?"

London Bombings, 1940s. What exactly did London do to deserve getting the hell bombed out of them? They had nothing to do with World War 2, I hope.

Princess Diana: A Very Beautiful Woman

| |

This woman was way too beautiful to die. But, I think she is making the angels up above happy with her gorgeous presence. What makes her so beautiful is that she is such a sweet and innocent soul. I think she is one awesome lady, she was like the working mom of her day!!!!!

I say RIP Diana, you beautiful angel. :D

Princess Diana of Wales

Spouse: Charles, Prince of Wales

Name: Diana Frances
DOB: July 1, 1961
Where: Park House, Sandringham, Norfolk, England
DOD: August 31, 1997
Where: Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital, Paris, France
Burial: Sept. 6, 1997, Althorp, Northamptonshire

-First wife of Prince Charles.
-She married him on July 29, 1981
-Was an international charity and fundraising figure
-Was considered a celebrity of the late 20th century.
-Her wedding was watched by all, it took place at the St. Paul's Cathedral and was watched by over 750 million people all over the world
-While married, she had 2 sons: William and Harry
This one is kinda cute.....^
-She remained to a focus of hard times after her divorce from Charles, which was on August 28, 1996

Early Life
-Her previous name was Spencer and she was child #4 to Viscount and Viscountess Althorp.
-They were hoping for a male child to carry on the family name, but their 3rd child, a boy, died after birth
-The Spencer family is considered to be one of Britain's oldest and most important families
-When she was born, they had not settled on a name, until they decided on Diana Frances, after an ancestress and her mother.

Education
-Diana attended the Riddlesworth Hall, which was an all-girls school. She attended a public school when she was younger.
-She showed a particular talent for music as a very accomplished piano player
-At age 16, she left West Heath and attended the Institut Alpin Videmanette, a finishing school in Rougemont, Switzerland
-As early work, she worked as a preschool teacher, dance instructor, did some cleaning work, party hostess. She also spent some time working as a nanny for an American family living in London

Relationship to Prince Charles
-He had known her for several years, but had taken a serious interest in her in the summer of 1980, while they were guests at a country club, where she watched him play polo.
-Their relationship grew as he took her on a sailing weekend to Cowes, aboard a yacht called the Britannia, to meet his family in Balmoral.
-She had made herself into the good graces of Elizabeth II, the Duke of Edinburgh, and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
-On February 6, 1981, the prince proposed to Diana. She accepted and they kept their engagement a secret
-In 2010, when Kate Middleton was to be married to Prince William, Diana's ring was to be her ring, in honor of Diana.

-When she married Charles, Diana was only 20 years old

-When everyone watched it, it was described as a "fairy tale wedding". Almost anyone who remembers watching the wedding on the TV remembers seeing her 25' wedding train on her dress
-And something you never really think about: you never hear anything bad about anyone in the royal family. That's probably because they know how to act, the men know how to act like decent gentlemen and the ladies act like they are supposed to, well cultured, well mannered society-prepared ladies. I'm glad you never hear anything bad about these people, kinda gives you someone to look up to.

Children
-Nov. 5, 1981: her son William Arthur Philip Louis is born

-Sept. 15, 1984: her 2nd son, Henry Charles Albert David was born
-The stupid critical people of Diana out there in the world even said that Diana was an imaginative and devoted mother. She dismissed a royal nanny and chose one herself, selected where the boys would attend school, chose their clothes, planned outings for them, and took them to school. So she was basically the working mom of her day. Right on, Diana!! You go, girl!!!
-During the early 1990s, the relationship between Charles and Diana began to falter.
-During the divorce proceedings, the stupid rumor mill began to swirl about with rumors about Diana supposedly seeing her horse riding instructor James Hewitt
-And it was also confirmed that the Prince of Wales was seeing a woman named Camilla Parker-Bowles.
-The divorce was finalized on August 28, 1996
-And when she divorced him, there was a rule saying she had to change titles, but it was still clear that Diana was to still be referred to as a British princess

Death
-On August 31, 1997, Diana was fatally hurt in a car crash in a tunnel in Paris. It also caused the death of her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed and the driver, Henry Paul. This crash was caused by the 3 of them trying to escape hounding paparazzis chasing them. Millions of people watched her funeral on TV. And her sons were also present there. Can u imagine going to the funeral of one of your parents? Well, I can now.
